As
America's largest gay and lesbian organization, the Human Rights Campaign

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
Founded in 1973, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Foundation (the
Task Force) was the first national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)
civil rights and advocacy organization and remains the movement's leading
voice for freedom, justice, and equality. We work to build the grassroots
political strength of our community by training state and local activists
and leaders, working to strengthen the infrastructure of state and local
allies, and organizing broad-based campaigns to build public support for
complete equality for LGBT people. Our Policy Institute, the community's
premiere think tank, provides research and policy analysis to support the
struggle for complete equality. As part of a broader social justice
movement, we work to create a world that respects and makes visible the
diversity of human expression and identity where all people may fully
participate in society. Headquartered in Washington, DC, we also have
offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Cambridge, and Miami. The Task Force
is a 501(c)(3) corporation incorporated in Washington, DC. Contributions to

The

National Center for Lesbian Rights
National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) is a
national legal resource center with a primary commitment to advancing the
rights and safety of lesbians and their families through a program of
litigation, public policy advocacy, free legal advice and counseling, and
public education. In addition, NCLR provides representation and resources to
gay men, and bisexual and transgender individuals on key issues that also
significantly advance lesbian rights.

National Gay and Lesbian Hotline is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization.
We're dedicated to meeting the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender (GLBT) community, and those questioning their sexual orientation
or identity. We offer free and confidential peer-counseling, information,
and local resources for cities and town throughout the United States.
We speak with callers of all ages
about coming-out issues, relationship concerns, HIV/AIDS anxiety and

resource database of its kind in the world, with over 18,000 listings. Our
database contains information on social and support groups as well as

National Pride At Work
National Pride At Work is affiliated as the newest constituency group of the
AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor & Congress of Industrial
Organizations). The purpose of Pride At Work is to mobilize mutual
support between the organized Labor Movement and the LGBT Community around
organizing for social and economic justice. We see full equality for LGBT
Workers in their workplaces and unions. We work towards creating a Labor
Movement that cherishes diversity, encourages openness, and ensures safety &
dignity. We aim to educate the LBGT Community about the benefits of union
membership for LGBT working people, and to build support and solidarity for

Lesbian.com is a journey.. an evolution that began when Sue was sitting at
her desk in 1995 and had the (some say) brilliant insight to register the
domain name Lesbian.com. Her intent was to protect the domain from the
radical right and perhaps mostly because she thought the web would be an
excellent avenue for dykes around the world to connect and network.
In
1998, Sue, Mel, Ana, and Gisele began talking about what Lesbian.com might
become as an international lesbian resource. Collectively the four of them
have years of experience with the Web are committed to social and economic
justice, and all are activists both on and offline. Together, they worked
through difficult issues and came up with the mission statement. Many of you
have kindly and graciously shared your thoughts and dreams with us. You've
helped to set the direction and focus of Lesbian.com. As a result of your
input, we offer you version 1 of Lesbian.com.
Lesbian.com will grow organically. By this we mean that Lesbian.com will be
what it is because lesbians from around the world will contribute and be a
part of creating it's content. Our hope is that Lesbian.com will be a place
where we can dialogue about ourselves, explore our issues, share our wildest
dreams. We will grow it together.
